Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street? is a 1997 Beginner Book starring Elmo Monster from children's TV show Sesame Street. Written by Eleanor Hudson. Illustrated by Joe Mathieu.
While Elmo is flying a kite, a big wind picks him up off his feet right above Sesame Street. He is high up in the clouds, but doesn't see Sesame Street. He falls down, down, down, landing in a truck full of ducks. He asks the ducks: "Can you tell Elmo how to get to Sesame Street?" The ducks go "quack, quack, quack!" Not being able to understand them, Elmo assumes they don't know the way.
The truck hits a bump and Elmo is thrown off into a pond. He asks some frogs sitting on a log: "Can you tell Elmo how to get to Sesame Street?" The frogs croak. Then suddenly a wave carries Elmo, and he lands on a mat. The mat lifts off and takes Elmo into outer space.
The mat zooms past the moon and into the Earth and Elmo lands in a hunk of green vines. He comes to an elephant and asks: "Can you tell Elmo how to get to Sesame Street?" The elephant shows him where it is. Elmo leaves the zoo and is back where he belongs.
